ይህ ብሎግ ለታላቁ አባት አባ ሊባኖስ መታሰቢያ ነው በየቦታው ጸበል በማፈለቅ የኢትዮጵያን ምድር እንደባረኩ ሁሉ በዚህ የሚጻፉት ሁሉ ወደ ሕይወት ምንጭ ወደ ሆነው ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የሚያደርስ እንዲሆን የጻድቁን ምልጃ በመማለድ ነው አሜን
ከዲያቆን ዮርዳኖስ አበበ ፔጅ ላይ የተወሰደ _ እግዚአብሔር አገልግሎትህን ይባርክ
አባ ሊባኖስን “አባ መጣዕ”
=>በሃገራችን እጅግ ዝነኛ ከሆኑ ቅዱሳን አንዱ አባ ሊባኖስ ናቸው:: እርሳቸው እንደ ተስዓቱ (ዘጠኙ) ቅዱሳንና አቡነ ገብረ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ሁሉ ከውጪ ሃገር የመጡ ናቸው::
+የነበሩበት ዘመንም 5ኛው መቶ ክ/ዘመን መጨረሻና 6ኛው መቶ ክ/ዘመን ውስጥ ነው:: ጻድቁ አባ ሊባኖስን “አባ መጣዕ” እያሉ መጥራት የተለመደ ነው:: “መጣዕ” ማለት ኤርትራ ውስጥ የሚገኝና ጻድቁ በተጋድሏቸው የቀደሱት ቦታ ነው:: ጥንተ ታሪካቸውስ እንደ ምን ነው ቢሉ:-
+አባ ሊባኖስ ትውልዳቸው ከሮም ታላላቅ ሰዎች ነው:: አባታቸው አብርሃም: እናታቸው ደግሞ ንግሥት ይባላሉ:: በብሥራተ መልአክ ተጸንሰው ስለ ተወለዱ ስማቸውም በዚያው “ሊባኖስ” ተብሏል::
+”ሊባኖስ” እመ ብርሃን የተወለደችበት ቅዱስ ሥፍራ ሲሆን በጥሬ ትርጉሙ “ደጋ” ማለት ነው:: ምሥጢራዊ ትርጉሙ ግን ለጻድቅነት ያገለግላል:: አባ ሊባኖስ በሃገራቸው ሮም ከወላጆቻቸው ጋር አድገው ለአካለ መጠን ሲደርሱ ከወደ ቁስጥንጥንያ ሸጋ ብላቴና አጭተው አጋቧቸው::
+ወጣቱ አባ ሊባኖስ ግን ማታ “ወደ ጫጉላ አልገባም” ብለው እንቢ አሉ:: ለዚያች ሌሊት ብቻ ከአባታቸው ጋር እንዲያድሩ ተፈቀደላቸው:: መጻሕፍትን የተማሩ ነበሩና በሌሊት ምን እንደሚያደርጉ ሲያወጡ: ሲያወርዱ ቅዱስ መልአክ ከሰማይ ወርዶ 3 ጊዜ “ሊባኖስ” ብሎ ጠራቸው::
+”እነሆኝ ጌታየ!” ቢሉት ከአባታቸው ጐን ነጥሎ እያጫወተ ሳይታወቃቸው ከሮም ግብጽ (ገዳመ ዳውናስ) አደረሳቸው::
+በጊዜው ታላቁ ኮከብ ቅዱስ ዻኩሚስ ነበር:: አባ ሊባኖስን አስተምሮ አመነኮሳቸው: በዓትም ለየላቸው:: በዚያ ለተወሰነ ጊዜ እንደቆዩም ቅዱሱ መልአክ መጥቶ “ለዘለዓለም መጠሪያህ በዚያ ነውና ወደ ኢትዮዽያ ሒድ” አላቸው::
+እየመራም ከግብጽ አክሱም አደረሳቸው:: አባ ሊባኖስም በዚያ በዓት ወቅረው ይጸልዩ ጀመር:: ጥቂት ቆይተውም ለስብከተ ወንጌል ተሰማሩ:: በተለይ በ6ኛው መቶ ክ/ዘመን በስብከት ከአክሱም ሸዋ (ግራርያ) ደርሰዋል::
+ተመልሰው ወደ አክሱም ሔደው: ጸበልን አፍልቀው ነበርና ድውያንን ፈወሱ:: ሙትን አስነሱ:: በዚህ የቀኑት የአካባቢው ሰዎች ግን “ምትሐተኛ ነህ” ብለው አባረሯቸው:: ጻድቁም ዶርቃ በምትባል ቦታ ለ3 ዓመት ሲኖሩ በአክሱም ዝናብ አልዘንብ አለ::
+ጥፋታቸው የገባቸው የአክሱም ካህናት ወደ ጻድቁ ሔደው “ይማሩን” ቢሏቸው ዘንቦላቸዋል:: አባ ሊባኖስ ግን ወደ ሽዋ ተመልሰው በደብረ አስቦ ለመኖር ቢሞክሩ አልተሳካም:: ስሙ የአንተ: ማደሪያነቱ ግን የቅዱስ ተክለ ሃይማኖት ነውና ወደ “መጣዕ” ሒድ አላቸው መልአኩ::
+እርሳቸውም ወደ መጣዕ (ኤርትራ) ወርደው ታላቅ ገዳም አነጹ:: ጸበሎችን አፈለቁ:: ብዙ አርድእትንም አፈሩ:: በዚያም በቅድስናና በገቢረ ተአምራት ኑረው ጥር 3 ቀን በ140 ዓመታቸው ዐርፈዋል:: የላሊበላውን ቤተ አባ ሊባኖስን ጨምሮ በርካታ አብያተ መቃድስ በሃገራችን አሏቸው::
=> የጻድቁ አምላክ እኛን ይማረን:: ከበረከታቸውም ያሣትፈን::

✞✞✞ Abba Libanos of Mete’a ✞✞✞=
>Abba Libanos is one of the famous saints in our country. Like that of the Nine Saints and Abune Gebre Menfes Kidus, he also came from another country.
✞He lived at the end of the 5th century and in the 6th century. It is common to call Abba Libanos as “Abba Mete’a”. “Mete’a” is a place in Eritrea which the Saint blessed with his spiritual strife. If asked, “What’s his history?”
✞Abba Libanos’ lineage is from great people (officials) of Rome. His father is called Abraham and his mother is known as Nigist. Because he was born after he was conceived following an annunciation of an angel, he was named “Libanos”.
✞”Libanos” (Lebanon) is a holy place where the Mother of Light was born, and means literally “highland”. But its allegorical meaning is useful in righteousness. When Abba Libanos came of age after growing up with his parents in Rome, he was wed to a beautiful young girl from Constantinople which his parents chose for him.
✞The young Abba Libanos that night said “I won’t go into the nuptial house” and also said no. And so he was allowed to sleep with his father for that night only. As he was learned in the Scriptures, he was thinking of what he was going to do that night when a holy angel descended from heaven and called him 3 times saying, “Libanos”.
✞When he answered saying, “Here I am my lord!”, he took him from the side of his father and without him noticing [the lengthy journey] helped him reach Egypt (the Monastery of Dawnas) from Rome.
✞During that time, Abba Pachomius, the great star, was there. He taught Abba Libanos and gave him a cell. After he stayed for some time, a holy angel appeared to him and said, “Go to Ethiopia as it is there that your name shall be invoked for eternity”.
✞He led and helped him reach from Egypt to Axum. There, he hewed a cell and started praying. A bit later, he went to evangelize. Particularly, in the 6th century he reached Shewa (Grarya) from Axum in his ministry.
✞He then returned to Axum and healed the sick as he had made a healing water to spring up earlier. He also raised the dead. And people of the surrounding who were jealous drove him out saying, “You are a sorcerer”. And while he lived in a place called Dorka, rain did not fall in Axum for 3 years.
✞And when the priests of Axum realized their mistake, went to the Saint and said, “Forgive us”, after which rain came down. Though Abba Libanos came to Shewa and tried to live in Debre Asbo, he wasn’t successful. The angel told him, “The name is yours (it will be called after you) but it will be the dwelling place of St. Tekle Haymanot. So go to Mete’a”.
✞And so he went to Mete’a (Eritrea) and built a great monastery, brought forth healing springs and bore many disciples. There he lived in holiness, performed miracles and passed away on Tir 3 (January 11) at the age of 140. Including Bete Abba Libanos in Lalibela there are many Churches is his name in our country.
